Lake Burunge Tented Lodge

Lake Burunge Tented Lodge is a great value-for-money mid-range tented lodge with a great location overlooking Lake Burunge, just outside Tarangire National Park. The lodge is perfectly located for game viewing in Tarangire and close enough to Lake Manyara to use as a base for game drives in that park as well. In the short rains (November until February) the area around the lodge is teeming with wildlife.

Accommodation

Lake Burunge Tented Lodge belongs to a chain of hotels and safari lodges that have established themselves as the most reliable and best mid-range to semi-luxury properties in Tanzania. Lake Burunge is one of their mid-range properties. It is a very rustic and good quality lodge that is well taken care of, has great staff och great service. The lodge has 30 rooms. 20 rooms are in large permanent tents built on raised wooden platforms. 10 rooms are in bungalows. All the rooms are spacious with proper beds, mosquito nets, big bathrooms, and a verandah with views over the lake. The rooms have 24-hour electricity.

The lodge also has a common area with a restaurant, bar, lounge, and a pool. The pool is on a wooden deck with great views of Lake Burunge and the surrounding landscape. You can often see animals from the lodge, especially during the so called short rains, November until February.
